Chapter Twenty-Three

3 weeks later

Everly graduated her cosmetology class earlier this week. I decided to celebrate her graduation a little differently. She wanted to kill me, I could see it in her eyes. Her independent streak is a mile long in both directions. I couldn’t leave the states with her driving a twelve year old car, and my truck is too big for her to handle. So I went out and bought a modest size SUV. I knew it would take some fast talking and swift action.

Her first clue after coming home from her graduation ceremony was her car was in the driveway. If I had my choice, I would have taken it to the junk yard. I knew if I did that, she’d be pissed for days. So, instead, I parked it outside of the garage and put her new vehicle in the garage.

“Why’s the car in the driveway? Are you working on the garage now?” she asks.

I put my truck in park and tell her, “I have a surprise for you.”

“For me? Don’t you think you’ve done enough? The house, moving me in, taking care of me? That’s all I really ever need or want,” Everly states.

“Not enough,” I grunt back and then grab the garage clicker before turning off the truck and heading towards the passenger side. I help her out of the truck and take us closer to the garage door before clicking the button. When the garage door opens and she sees the shiny white SUV with a red bow on it, she’s smiling and laughing, something I didn’t expect until she says, “Liam, are you crazy! You can’t just go out and buy a car for someone. This is huge. How am I ever going to make the payments on this while I’m just starting next week at the salon?”

“That’s easy, you don’t. It’s already paid for. I didn’t want you stranded while I was away and the truck is too big for you to be driving around town in,” I state.

“Damn it, Liam. I can’t let you do that. I seriously can’t,” she’s angry and I know one sure fire way to get her to stop talking. I swoop down and plant my lips on her. I pick her up and head inside the garage, closing it with the click of the button, and put her right on the hood of her brand-new vehicle. The dress she’s wearing is already gathered at her hips, and when I see the flimsy white lace she has on for panties, my fingers gravitate towards them. I want my fill of Everly, and I’m going to get as much of her as I can.

“Taking you right here, Everly. This is my way of letting you know how much you mean to me, how much I care about you, and how much you know we’re in this together. It’s you and me now, and we’re a team,” I tell her before I rip her panties off and unbuckle my pants, pulling my cock out of my jeans. I wet the tip in her essence before slowly easing inside of her. Her nails are digging into my shoulders and her legs are wrapped firmly around me, right where she’s meant to be.

Chapter Twenty-Four

Every time I walk out into the garage and see my brand-new vehicle, I shake my head. I tried my hardest to repay Liam for buying a new vehicle for me, except he’s right. I need to worry about getting my career started and with him leaving in just a few short days, it became a necessity at this point.

It’s one of the most amazing gifts someone’s ever given me, and even though it may just be a vehicle, it will always mean the world to me.

I walk back into the house from getting the groceries out of the car to start dinner. Tonight it’s meatloaf, loaded baked potatoes, and fresh green beans. I’m trying to cook as much as I can before it’s that day and keeping myself busy is definitely helpful.

I turn on some music and get down to preparing the baked potatoes when I hear Liam come in through the garage. We’ve settled in nicely living together and seeing our clothes intermingled with each other, it always brings a small smile to my face. As if I’m in a dream and this isn’t really happening, except it is, and it’s the most amazing feeling in the world.

“Hey, Babe,” I tell him as I hear him make his way into the kitchen. He sets his keys in the small dish on the kitchen island and then makes his way over to me. His arms instantly wrap around me. My back to his front, this is our thing. Anytime I’m in the kitchen and he comes home from Pete’s, the hardware store, or the gym, he drops his keys where they are and wraps me up in his arms. His chin is on my shoulder and he asks, “Hey, how was your day?”
